The LEGO Brick turned 50 today! Here are some fun facts:
• There are about 62 LEGO bricks for every one of the world’s 6 billion inhabitants. (about 65 thousand of which are sitting in my basement…LEGOs that is…not people.)
• More than 400 million people around the world have played with LEGO bricks.
• 2.16 million LEGO elements are molded every hour, or 36,000 per minute.
• World-renowned author Douglas Coupland believes the LEGO brick represents a “language in itself.”
Now get out there and start building!
