May I take your order sir?

I had a few extra minutes at lunch time today, so I figured I would put together a quick little sketch of the waiter for my short. I have only started to think about him lately and I am considering going with the sorta typical nose-in-the-air type. But perhaps that is a bit to derivative.
One thing I have always struggled with is the issue of originality. There is just so much great stuff out there that its hard to create anything that feels fresh. On the other hand, I have never really felt that there is anything really wrong with being derivative. You draw a snobby waiter, everyone gets it immediately, they know how he is expected to behave as a character. Playing a character against type is certainly always a great way to go, but for a character that has about six seconds of actual screen time, is it better to simply go down the path well worn?
These are the questions I have been asking myself lately.

I like it!
